Sauces - Pistou


A nut-free version of pesto that's a snap to make in the food processor.
Feel free to add it to pasta, rice, soups or as a tasty substitution for mayo on sandwiches.

  • 3 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Splash fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Step 1

In a food processor, mince garlic.

Add in basil and cheese and blend.

Slowly drizzle in olive oil while the machine is running. Blend until smooth.

Squeeze in lemon juice and add salt and pepper to taste.
