Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 green pepper, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 C chopped celery
- 1/4 C ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 C water

Preparation
Step 1
Lightly brown beef. Stir in onion, green pepper and celery and cook until onion is transparent.
Season with ketchup, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Stir in water. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or until desired consistency.
Italian: Substitute 1, 19 oz can tomatoes for water.
Hamburger A La tomate: Substitue 1, 10oz can tomato sour for 1 cup of water.
South American: Add 1/2 tsp garlic salt and 1/2 tsp chili powder to seasonings. Before serving stir in 1/3 C thick dairy sour cream.
