Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
  • 1 lb (500 g) stewing beef, cut into pieces
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 turnip, peeled and cubed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, peeled and cubed
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 3 cups (750 mL) beef stock
  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) liquid honey
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Brown the beef, constantly turning, for 8-10 minutes.

Add all of the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes.
