Sesame Pasta Salad

Definitely make this ahead and let the flavors marinate together. This recipe is even better the second day! This dressing is excellent and would work well on any slaw or green salad.

    cup sesame seeds

  • 1

    16oz pkg bowtie/rotini pasta-cooked & cool rinsed

  • ¼

    cup olive oil

  • cup tamari

  • cup rice vinegar

  • 1

    tsp sesame oil

  • 3

    Tbsp sugar

  • ½

    tsp ground ginger

  • ¼

    tsp pepper

  • cup cilantro, chopped

  • cup green onion, chopped


Heat a skillet over med-high and lightly toast sesame seeds. Set aside. In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine oil, tamari, vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, sesame seeds, ginger, and pepper. Shake well. Pour dressing over pasta and toss to coat evenly. Gently mix in cilantro and green onions. Optional Add Ins-cooked chicken, chopped broccoli, shredded carrots, matchstick strips of sweet peppers, celery, sugar snap peas cut on a bias, baby spinach leaves, red onion. Options-Add a bit of crush chilies or some chili sauce for a kick! Add a Tbsp of peanut butter to give it a nice nutty taste. Add roasted peanuts just before serving(or to each individual serving)
