Sweet and Spicy Pork Roast
By sherryl61
Excellent way to use pork roast when on sale. It freezes well and can be reheated on the stove or in the crock pot. I like to make the larger roast then freeze it in smaller portions.
Ingredients
- 5 pounds pork roast
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoons sage
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoons cayenne pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Place all ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Freezing Directions:
Before cooking, divide all ingredients into gallon freezer bags. Label and freeze. To serve: thaw in fridge. Pour contents into slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. If you want to do it on the stove, place contents in a Dutch oven on the stove and simmer for a couple of hours to get the flavors to meld. Easier to do in the crock pot though.
