Ingredients
- - for sauce:
- 3/4 - 3/4 lb. flank steak
- 2 - 2 x small dried red chilies
- 1/2 - 1/2 medium onion, cubed
- 1 - 1 x medium carrot, thinly sliced diagonally
- 1 - 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 - 1 tbsp regular soy sauce or dark soy sauce
- 2 - 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 - 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 - 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 - 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 - 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2 - 2 tsp sesame oil

Preparation
Step 1
1. Marinade Beef with 2 tsp cornstarch, 1 tsp black pepper, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp minced ginger. Stir to coat and let stand for 10 minutes
2. Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well
3. Place a stir-fry pan over high heat until hot. Add oil, swirling to coat sides. Add chilies and stir until very lightly browned. Add beef, onion, and carrot, stir-fry until onion begins to brown, about 2 minutes. Add sauce; cook, stirring, until carrot is tender-crisp and meat is cooked, 2 to 3 minutes
