Ingredients
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 cup each onions, red pepper, carrots, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
- 3 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 4 1/2 cups cooked black beans
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp each chili powder, ground cumin, worchestershire
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- pich black pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in a soup pot, add onions, red pepper, carrots, garlic and jalapeno. Cook and stir for 5 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Using a blender, hand mixer, or food processor, puree soup until smooth. Garnish with cilantro.
