- 2-3 sticks butter
- 1/2 to 3/4 C celery
- 1/2 to 3/4 C onion
- 3 loaves bread (cut open and let get a little stale on counter for a day.)
- poultry seasoning to taste
- salt to taste
- Cooke heart, neck, etc. if desired from turkey
Add celery and onion
Season with a little salt
Saute for 15 or so mintues low heat until getting soft and smelling yummy
Cut breat into chunks.
Put in big bowl.
Sprinkle with a nice coating of poultry seasoning and some salt. Can add more as you taste stuffing later.
If you want.. we do this.. chop the giblets from the turkey and add to the bread.
Then add the butter mixture. Mix well. If still too dry you can add either another stick of melted butter or some of the liquid that you cooked the giblets in. If you need to you can also add chicken broth.
Taste for seasoning.
Refrigerate until ready to stuff the bird!
