Samoa Rice Krispy Treats

FOR CRUST: Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffly
- FOR CRUST:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/8 tsp powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2-1 Tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- For Treat:
- 1 recipe Shortbread Cookie Crust (recipe below)
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 3 cups marshmallows
- 1/2-3/4 cup caramel sauce (you can use any brand)
- 2 cups rice krispies
- 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut (I toasted mine in the oven... but I'm just super gormet like that, it's totally optional)
- FOR TOPPING:
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp oil
Banana Chiffon Cake with Banana-Cream Cheese Frosting

- FOR BANANA CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 2 large eggs, separated, at room temp
- 1 large egg white
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed extra-ripe bananas
- 1 extra ripe banana
- One 8oz package cream cheese, cut into chunks, at room temp
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temp
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 to 4 cups confectioners' sugar

1. Preheat the oven to 325
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup vegetable or canola oil
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup coarsely grated carrots
- 1 cup coarsely grated zucchini
- 1 cup raisins

1. For the meat sauce, heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet that has a lid
- MEAT SAUCE:
- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large red onions, grated on the alrge holes of a grater
- 1 3/4 pound ground beef
- 7 ounces ground pork
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 3 whole cloves
- 3 allspice berries
- 1 cup red wine
- 14oz can chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomto paste
- 2 tablespoons chopped italian parsley
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 14 ounces long thin macaroni
- 1 1/2 ounces shredded mizithra cheese or salted ricotta
- BECHAMEL SAUCE:
- 8 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup sweet butter
- 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 2 3/4 ounces mizithra cheese or hard salted ricotta, coarsely shredded

- 1 1/2 cups sugar

- 2 teas pumpkin pie spice
- 2 teas baking powder
- 1 teas baking soda
- 1/2 teas ground nutmeg

- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 (15oz) can pumpkin

- For Frosting:
- 1 1/2 cups grade B maple syrup
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tblsp light corn syrup

- 2 tblsp butter
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 1 tblsp thyme
- 3/4 teas chili powder
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese, diced
- 8 cups toasted white bread cubes
