Grandma Eva's Cheese Ball

This used to be a favorite treat when we would go visit Oakland to see Grandma and Grandpa
- 1 8-ounce packages cream cheese
- 1 jar "Old English" cheese
- 1 tbsp. Parsley
- 1 tbsp. Minced Onion
- Finely chopped walnuts, if desired
- Instead of minced onion, you can substitute minced garlic; as well as adjust onion or garlic to taste.
Bleu Cheese Dressing

Combine all ingredients. Mix thoroughly
- 1 small package blue cheese
- 1 cup (8 oz.) IMO
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- Dash garlic salt
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup milk
Dumplings

- 1 1/2 cup Sifted Flour (1 cup)
- 2 tsp. Baking Powder (1 1/2 tsp)
- 3/4 tsp. Salt (1/2 tsp)
- 3/4 cup Milk (1/2 cup)
Alfredo Sauce

In a saucepan, heat cream and butter until almost boiling
- 1 3/4 heavy cream
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup grated fontina cheese
- 1 lb. pasta of choice (fettucine is suggested)
- 1 tsp. cracked black pepper
- Shaved Parmesan to garnish
- salt and pepper to taste
Cocktails (Lil Burger Special)

- Serves Many:
- 6 cans frozen lime juice
- 1 large bottle Puerto Rico Rum
- 1 small bottle Puerto Rico Rum
- 1 large bottle of Grenadine
- Serves 8:
- 2 cans frozen lime juice
- 1 small bottle Puerto Rico Rum
- 1 small bottle of Grenadine
Jello Pretzel Salad

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
- Crust:
- 1 bag of small pretzels, crushed
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar (or Splenda)
- Cream Layer:
- 1 medium container Cool Whip
- 1 package (8oz.) cream cheese
- 2/3 cup sugar (or Splenda)
- Top Layer:
- Jello
- Fruit of choice (Mandarin oranges, bananas, etc.)
Chicken Manicotti

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 1 jar (30 oz) tomato pasta sauce
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breast tenders
- 14 uncooked manicotti shells
- 1 can sliced olives
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Senate Bean Soup

This was found in Grandma Eva's recipe box and the the recipe was a newspaper clipping glued to a recipe card
- 1 pound dry white navy beans
- 1 meaty ham bone, or 1 1/2 pounds ham hocks
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2/3 cup mashed potato flakes
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon each: nutmeg, oregano, and basil
- 1 bay leaf
Zucchini Bread

- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups grated zucchini, packed down*
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tbsp. grated orange rind
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/2 cup grapenuts
- Do not peel zucchini. The green peeling is very pretty in the bread. However, I have used some very large zucchini in my recipes and I have peeled that if the skin is tough.
