- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 cups packed dark-brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1 cup coarsely chopped dried fruit, such as dates or raisins

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 large egg yolk plus 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate (61 to 70 percent cacao), finely chopped
