Banana Nut Bread

Cream shortening & sugar. Add eggs & beat well
- 2 cups mashed bananas
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 2 cups chopped nuts
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
Texas Sheet Cake

Mix well and bake at 375 deg
- cup water Take this off of heat and add:
- 2 sticks oleo
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. soda
- 4 T. cocoa
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 t. vanilla
Rhubarb and Raspberry Crostata

Crust: Combine both flours, sugar, and salt in a processor; blend for 5 seconds
- Filling:
- 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- kosher salt
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp. whole milk
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 4 cups 1/2" - thick slices rhubarb (about 1-1 1/4 lb.)
- 1 6-oz. container fresh raspberries
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Raw sugar
- Sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Crepe Quiche Lorraine (Crepes)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F

- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, sliced
- 4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled

- 12 ounces milk

Cucumber Ginger & Sake Sangria

- 1 large (1-lb) seedless cucumber (usually plastic-wrapped)
- 2 cups water
- 2/3 cup sugar

- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (half of a 17-to-18-ounce package), thawed
- 2 strips bacon
- 1 1/2 cups shredded havarti cheese
- 3 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
- 4 large eggs
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- Chopped fresh chives, for topping

- 3 pounds frozen chopped spinach, defrosted (5 (10-ounce) packages)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
