Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg in large mixing bowl; mix well
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, optional
- 3/4 cup egg nog (lowfat or classic)
- 2 tbsp milk
- Sugar
Havana Black Beans with Cilantro

"If you like it spicy, add some choped chipotle chilies in adobo sauce found in Hispanic markets
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 small red onion, minced
- 1 (16-ounce) can black beans with liquid
- 3 tablespoons minced cilantro
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

- 1/3 cup enriched flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 and 1/2 tsp. ground sage
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 cut-up frying chicken
- 1/4 cup fat
- 1 cup sifted enriched flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 and 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
Apple Cobbler

Low sodium diets: Omit salt, use unsalted margarine
- 4 cups cooking apple slices (about 1 3/4 pounds medium-sized Jonathan or Wealthies)
- 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp apple pie spice
- 1/4 tsp salt, divided
- Sugar substitute equal to 4 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3 tbsp margarine

- 2 to 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup pure grain alcohol and 1 cup water (or, use 2 cups rum or 80-proof vodka instead)
- 1/2 cup water

Crust: Combine the first three ingredients
- Crust:
- 2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 3 tbsp sugar
- Raspberry Sauce:
- 2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries, thawed
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- Filling and Topping:
- 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 to 3 tbsp orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries, thawed
