- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 (1 oz.) package dry ranch seasoning mix

- For the dough
- 1 package yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 2 tbsp. warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 6 tbsp. butter
- 1 vanilla pod, halved and scraped (optional; substitute 2 teaspoons vanilla extract)
- 1 egg plus 1 yolk (reserve extra egg white)
