Candied Brown Sugar Bacon

My favorite way to prepare bacon, for breakfast, is to bake it on a rack
- 3 slices of bacon per serving (I use thick-cut quality applewood bacon)
- Brown sugar, lightly sprinkled over each slice of raw bacon

Slice the strawberries into a bowl and sprinkle with one tablespoon of sugar
- 1 pound of strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs

- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2/3 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted

Asian Slaw with Roasted Peanuts

1. In a large bowl, combine the cabbages, spinach, green onions and lime segments
- 3 cups green cabbage, shredded (about half a small cabbage)
- 3 cups red cabbage, shredded (about half a small cabbage)
- 2 cups fresh vegetables (chopped baby spinach, bell pepper strips, snow peas, shredded carrots)
- 1/4 cup green onions, minced
- 1 lime, segmented and chopped
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup unsalted roasted peanuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup vegetable or peanut oil
- 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar (or white wine vinegar)
- Juice of 1/2 lime
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
- 1 to 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
Homemade Italian Dressing

Place vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, mustard, salt, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and garlic in the jar of a blend...
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (this really doesn’t add much heat; it’s better with it!)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 cup neutral oil or extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese (either fresh or from a can)
- 3/4 tsp. Italian seasoning (add more if needed)
Self-Frosting Pumpkin Nutella Muffins

- 1 - 15 oz can pure pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

- 1 whole (4 To 5 Pounds) Chuck Roast
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 whole Onions
- 6 whole Carrots (Up To 8 Carrots)
- 2 whole garlic cloves, peeled
- Salt To Taste
- Pepper To Taste
- 1 cup Red Wine (optional, You Can Use Beef Broth Instead)
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 cups Beef Stock
- 3 sprigs Fresh Thyme, or more to taste
- 3 sprigs Fresh Rosemary, or more to taste
Serritella's Cannoli

This recipe comes from a friend whose Italian grandmother taught her how to make this delectable Italian dessert
- For the shells:
- 4 cups sifted all-purpose unbleached flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 Tablespoons butter, softened (or lard)
- 2 egg yolks, (reserve whites)
- 3/4 cup red wine
- Shortening (or oil) for frying
- For the filling:
- 4 cups whole milk ricotta cheese (low-fat ricotta is not recommended)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (to taste)
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon citron (optional) or lemon zest
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
- Pistachios, finely chopped (for garnish)
- Maraschino cherries (drained and cut in half, garnish) and squeezed dry with paper towels
- Powdered sugar (garnish)
- Equipment needed:
- Cannoli forms (easily found at Amazon.com)
- A glass , or a dough cutter, 3-4 inches in diameter
- Deep fryer, or a heavy skillet
- Cheesecloth
- Piping bag or a zip-log bag with a hole cut on the edge

- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 whole Egg
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/8 teaspoons Baking Soda

Quick Marinara Sauce

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes (buy San Marzano if possible)
- 1 teaspoon oregano, dried*
- 1 teaspoons basil, dried* or 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
- 1 whole bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
