- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup sugar

Melt two tablespoons of the butter
- 3 tbsp. butter, plus more for the skillet
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup barley or rye flour
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup plain, full-fat yogurt
- 2 tbsp. milk, plus more as needed
- 1/2 tsp. lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 About 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
Crown Roast of Pork

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F
- Pan Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed and finely chopped
- 1 bunch fresh rosemary, picked and finely chopped
- 1 bunch fresh sage, picked and finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- One 13-rib pork loin, membrane between the rib bones slit to allow the pork to curl around and stand up
- Kosher salt
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 ribs celery, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 1 Spanish onion, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 1/2 fennel bulb, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 8 cups chicken stock
- 2 cups dry white wine
- 2 bay leaves
- Kosher salt
- Chestnut and Pear Stuffing:
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- 8 ounces slab bacon, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 4 ribs celery, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 2 Spanish onions, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 1/4 fennel bulb, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- Kosher salt
- 4 sprigs rosemary, picked and finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed and finely chopped
- 8 ounces peeled chestnuts, coarsely chopped
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 4 Anjou pears, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch dice

Baked Hawaiian Sandwiches

Place a rack into lower half of oven and preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)
- 24 Hawaiian bread rolls (such as King's®), split
- 12 thin slices of honey-cured deli ham, halved
- 12 slices Swiss cheese, halved
- 12 thin slices deli smoked turkey, halved
- 12 thin slices provolone cheese, halved
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup dried onion flakes
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon honey mustard
Chickpea and Sausage Minestrone

- 3/4 cup uncooked small shell pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 (4-ounce) link hot turkey Italian sausage, casing removed
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced carrot
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 5 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 (15-ounce) can unsalted chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
- 4 cups unsalted chicken stock (such as Swanson)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Lucky Cake (Uncle Dale's Favorite)

I had to make this recipe whenever I visited my Uncle Dale
- Crust: 2 cups flour, 2 sticks butter (softened), 1 cup of chopped nuts.
- 2 nd Layer: 1 large pkg of cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 pkg whipped cream ( 9 oz)
- 3 rd Layer: 3 boxes of instant pudding (any flavor but I use chocolate), 4 1/2 cups milk and beat until thick
- 4 th Layer: 1 ( 9 oz) carton of whipped cream, chopped nuts, and maraschino cherries.
Simple Cucumber and Onion Salad

Peel cucumbers and slice to your liking
- 5 or 6 small pickling cucumbers (you can use 2 or 3 English cucumbers if that’s all you can get your hands on)
- half of a medium-sized Vidalia onion
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
Moist Zucchini Bran Muffins

- 1 (18.25-ounce) box raisin bran muffin mix (recommended: Sun-Maid)
- 2 egg whites
- 1 1/4 cups grated zucchini (about 1 medium zucchini)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 3/4 cup apple juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins
Beer Braised Irish Stew and Colcannon

- Irish Stew:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 (3 pound) beef chuck roast, trimmed of fat and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup coarsely chopped onion
- 1 cup coarsely chopped carrot
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle dark beer
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Calcannon:
- 3 slices bacon
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
- 1/4 cup milk, warmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
Best Pumpkin Pie Ever

I made this for Thanksgiving 2012 and it was by far the best recipe for pumpkin pie that I've ever found
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree
- 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust
