Grease an 18 x 13 inch baking sheet
- 2 cups (10 ounces) flour
- 2 cups (14 ounces) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sour cream -- at room temperature
- 2 large eggs -- at room temperature
- 2 large egg yolks -- at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate -- chopped
- 3/4 cup oil
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup dutch-process cocoa powder
- 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine
- ICING
- 1 stick unsalted butter or margarine -- cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup dutch-process cocoa powder
- 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
- 3 cups (12 ounces) confectioners sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans -- toasted and chopped
Bloody Mary Salad Dressing

- 1/3 cup tomato juice
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice or lime juice
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic -- minced
- dash tabasco sauce
- dash worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper

- 1 1/2 cups sugar -- divided into 1 1/4 cups and 1/4 cup
- MERINGUE
- 3 egg whites -- from above
- 1 Tablespoon sugar

Easy Does It Spring Chicken

Mix together soy sauce, lime juice, worcestershire sauce and mustard
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
Spicy Potato Soup

In a Dutch oven or large soup pot, brown the ground beef
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups cubed peeled potatoes -- 1/2" cubes
- 1 small onion -- chopped
- 3 cans tomato sauce -- (8 ounces each)
- 4 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce -- or to taste

Preheat oven to 375. Grate zucchini, carrots, and potatoes
- 3 medium zucchini, unpeeled
- 3 carrots
- 2 sweet potatoes or 3 large potatoes -- peeled
- 2 medium onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup parsley leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 4 eggs plus 4 egg whites or 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup potato starch or matzo meal
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt -- to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper -- to taste
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
