A great change from Chicken Divan! Prepare and freeze up to a month ahead

  • 1 small package of sliced almonds
  • 2 boxes of fast cooking long-grain and wild rice mix
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 4 celery ribs (chopped)
  • 2 medium onions chopped
  • 5 c. chopped cooked chicken
  • 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cans chopped water chestnuts (not a deal breaker -delicious without these)
  • 1 (8 oz. container) sour cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 cups soft fresh breadcrumbs

Nothing better than a warm piece of banana bread and a cup of delicious coffee!

  • Mixing bowl and beaters, greased bread pan
  • 1 stick soft butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 3 T. milk
  • 3-4 very ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces (optional, but a healthy addition)
