Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • Mixing bowl and beaters, greased bread pan
  • 1 stick soft butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 3 T. milk
  • 3-4 very ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces (optional, but a healthy addition)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350º

Peel and mash bananas in a bowl then add baking soda and milk. Mix well

In a mixing bowl cream soft butter and sugar
Add the egg and continue to beat.

Sift flour and baking powder into another bowl.

Pour the banana mixture into the creamed sugar and butter and blend well.
Spoon in the flour mixture a little at a time until well blended.
Add the vanilla and stir in walnuts

Pour mixture into a greased bread pan and bake 35-40 minutes ( when the tooth pick pulls out clean)

After 10 minutes (if you can wait that long), turn over on a plate and enjoy a piece!)
