  • Pinch of sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)
  • 5 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 cups plain yogurt, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup solid vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup prune lekvar (also sold as prune butter in stores)
  • 2 tablespoons ground caraway seeds (grind whole seeds)
