- 3/4 cup onions, grated
- 1/4 cup half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 lb meatloaf mixture (or equal parts of gound beef, pork, and veal)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
