1. Generously coat an 8-inch square baking dish with butter
- 1 (1-pound) day-old baguette or loaf of Italian bread
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)

This cake…oh this Banana Dream Cake…it is my favorite cake I have ever made
- CAKE:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 1/8 cups granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 oz applesauce
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 cup mashed over ripe bananas (about 2 large bananas)

- FROSTING:
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 (12 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 5 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar

Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookies II

I first discovered the Levain Bakery on an episode of Thowdown with Bobby Flay
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Chinese Boneless Spareribs

Initial Directions: Mix all ingredients except the meat and whisk thoroughly
- 12 oz pork loin strip, sliced into 1/2 inch strips or
- 12 oz boneless spareribs sliced into 1/2 inch strips or
- even de-boned large pork chops cut into strips
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 Tablespoons dry sherry (or substitute a mixture of 1/4 cup vinegar + 1 tablespoon sugar + 1/4 water for 1/4 cup of sherry. Measure out desired amount for marinade)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 4 Tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoons red food coloring
- 1/4 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder (mixture of ground; cinnamon, clove powder, fennel seed, szechwan peppercorn, star anise)
