- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (1-3/4 sticks)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups packed dark brown sugar, divided
- 2 cups + 2 tablespoons, unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk

Slowcooker Country Style Ribs

This slow cooker method for making country style ribs is so easy
- 3-4 lbs. pork coountry style ribs
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or sorghum molasses (I use molasses)
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 26-ounce jar tomato sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 15-ounce can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 15-ounce can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
