- 5 plum tomatoes, diced small
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons good extra-virgin olive oil, plus 1 tablespoon for serving

- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, sliced into ribbons
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds (about 14 slices)

Red Velvet Cheesecake

- RED VELVET CAKE:

- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted lightly to remove any lumps

Herb Coeur A La Creme

Place the cream cheese in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment
- 12 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons minced scallions, white and green parts (2 scallions)
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh chives
- Grated zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
