- Cake:
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 6 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups cake flour
- Frosting:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 8 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
Molasses Clove Cookies

Inspired by Dancing Deer's Molasses Clove cookies and adapted from my Chubby Chewy Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies
- 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups (1 pound 2 ounces) white whole wheat flour
- 1 cup turbinado sugar, for rolling dough

- 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, chopped small
- 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into pieces
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- Mix all the ingredients together. Place into 7 to 8-ounce ramekins.
