Perfect Cupcake Frosting and Filing

I always hear people say “I’m not a frosting person”
- 3 T Flour
- 1/2 C milk (whole milk is best, but I used non-fat when it’s all I have and it’s actually fine)
- 1/2 C real butter
- 1/2 C sugar (that’s granulated sugar, not powdered sugar)
- 1 t vanilla extract, or other flavor if you wish.
Poppy Seed-Lemon Twists

Position racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven; preheat to 350 degrees F
- All-purpose flour, for dusting
- 1 batch Basic Sweet-Roll Dough
- 1 cup canned poppy seed filling (found in the baking aisle)
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs

In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 t milk
- 2 t light corn syrup
- 1/4 t almond extract

Spinach & Artichoke Cups

Preheat oven to 350F degrees
- 24 wonton wrappers (available in the refrigerated produce section!)
- 5 oz. (half of a 10 oz. box) frozen, chopped spinach — thawed and drained
- 1 (14 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 oz. (half a block) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parmesan, grated
- 1/2 cup mozzarella or Italian blend cheese, grated
- dash of freshly ground black pepper

- 8 crusty dinner rolls
- 8 large eggs
- 1/4 cup chopped mixed herbs, such as parsley, chives and tarragon
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
