Fragrant Spiced Quinoa Salad

It's easy to prepare and a fantastic healthy substitute for starch in your diet
- 2 cups quinoa
- 3-1/2 cups cold water
- Sea salt, for seasoning
- 1 lemon juice and zest grated (a little orange juice is nice too)
- 2 oz extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup toasted nuts, your favourite or a mix cashew, pine nut, almond, hazelnut and pecan
- 1 cup mixed dried fruits: apricot, cherry, cranberry, raisins and dates
- 2 tbsp mixed chopped fresh herbs: lemon balm, rosemary, chive and parsley
- 1/2 tsp mixed spices: equal parts ground cinnamon, grount cloves, star anise, and nutmeg. Add more or less depending on your taste preference
- Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Pan-Fried Steak With Horseradish Rutabaga Mash

Rutabaga, also called turnip, is an often overlooked (but tasty) root vegetable
- Horseradish Rutabaga Mash:
- 1 lb (454 g) beef top sirloin grilling steaks
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vegetable oil
- 1 rutabaga, (about 1-3/4 lb/790 g), peeled and cubed
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 lb (454 g) russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) light sour cream
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) prepared horseradish
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) chopped fresh chives
Gluten-Free Chicken Chili Recipe with White Beans, Sweet Potato and Lime

This easy, fabulous chicken chili gets its heat from hot red pepper flakes and ginger
- For serving:
- 4 bone-in free-range organic chicken breasts
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Sea salt and pepper

- 2-4 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
