- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup sifted self-rising flour
- 1 pound dates
- 4 cups whole pecans

Diced tomatoes may be substituted for whole canned tomatoes if desired
- 2 large can diced tomatoes
- 1 large can whole tomatoes
- 2 large can tomato sauce
- 1 large can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 4-5 fresh tomatoes
- 2 heads garlic, peeled and chopped
- 2-3 large onions
- 2-3 green peppers
- 1 large celery bunch
- 4 lbs lean hamburger
- fresh mushrooms
- virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tsp. each of basil, oregano
- pinch each of cayenne, red pepper flakes, white pepper, celery seed, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, ground sage, turmeric
- Mrs. Dash (optional)

Poultry: Country Inn's Oven Crisp Chicken

- 4 chicken breasts, deboned
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/4 t lemon juice
- 1/2 t garlic salt
- 14 t celery salt
- pepper
- 1 t worcestershire
- 1 t paprika
- 1 cup herb seasoned dressing
- 1/2 stick butter, melted
Homemade Crust: Stir and Roll Pastry

Sift flour and salt. Mix rest
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2t salt
- 1/2 cup Wesson oil
- 2T evaporated milk
- 2T water
Poultry: Wild Turkey

In a big pot, marinate 12 hours with lid in the refrigerator
- Turkey, skinned and cleaned, all fat off:
- Soak in salt water 1 hour using 1/2 cup salt
- Rinse
- Add:
- 8 cups water
- 8 T soy sauce
- 4 T worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Seasoning salt
- (White wine, 2 cups, Barbara didn't)
- 1 cup brown sugar of Georgia Pure Cane Syrup (Barbara will give)
Miscellaneous: Pickled Okra

Pack okra tightly in hot, sterilized jars, leaving ¼ inch head space
- 3 1/2 pounds small okra
- 1 clove each jar
- 1 hot pepper each jar
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups white vinegar
- 1/4 cup salt
- 2 t dill weed

- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

- 1 cup shortening, chilled
- 4-5 T ice water
- Chicken Filling
- 4 whole skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cloves garlic, halved
- 5 stalks celery with leaves, quartered
- 2 medium carrots, cut in chunks
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- to taste salt and pepper
- 8 T unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup plus 2T all-purpose flour
- Roux
- Melt butter over moderate heat
- Add flour bit by bit
- Stir to blend
