Spiced Coconut Chiffon Pie

Combine coconut, cinnamon, ginger and mace
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ginger
- 1/8 tsp. mace
- 1 tbsp. gelatin powder
- 3/4 + 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 4 beaten egg yolks
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 9" baked pastry shell
Instant Mocha Mousse

In a small heavy saucepan or in a double boiler over gently simmering water, melt the chocolate in the coffee
- 3 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup strong coffee
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tbsp. confectioner's sugar
Coconut Balls

Combine eggs, sugar and dates in heavy skillet
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup white sgar
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups coconut
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups rice crispies
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup chopped cherries
Marvellous Macaroons

Drain pineapple well, pressing out excess juice with the back of a spoon
- 1 can (8 oz.) crushed pineapple
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 bag (7 oz.) flaked coconut
- 1 bag (2 1/2 oz.) almonds, toasted, chopped
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Date Macaroon Cream

Snip dates along one side with kitchen scissors; flip out pits
- 1 cup dates
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup crumbled macaroons
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tbsp. brandy, optional
Moravian Cookies

Heat molasses to boiling in saucepan large enough for mixing cookies
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Harlequin Pie

Crust: Combine all ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups brazil, walnuts or pecans, ground
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 egg (separated) beat white until it peaks

Apple Oatmeal Crunch (Extra Good)

Spread apples in a greased 8" pan
- 7-8 apples, sliced
- 6 tbsp. brown sugar
- 6 tbsp. white sugar (divided)
- 1/2 cup unsifted flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup melted margarine
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
Date and Nut Loaf

Cut dates, place in bowl, add baking soda
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup melted shortening
Split Pea Soup

In a large saucepan combine broth, water, split peas, ham bone, marjoram, garlic, bay leaves and some black pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups dry split peas
- 1 meaty ham bone
- Pinch crushed dried marjoram
- 3 pinches garlic
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 3 cups chopped onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
