Chocolate Pudding and Sauce

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar and 2 tbsp
- Sauce:
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp. melted shortening (not salad oil)
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp. cocoa
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 5 tbsp. cocoa
- 2 1/4 cups boiling water
Buttermilk Pie

Mix all together and bake between 2 crusts at 375 deg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 cup buttermilk
Molasses Bread Pudding

In a 1 1/2 quart size casserole, combine bread cubes and raisins
- 2 1/4 cups bread cubes
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Ginger Cookies

Cream shortening and sugar together
- 1 1/2 cups shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. cloves
- 2 tsp. ginger
Orange Bread 2

Stir flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt together
- 2 cups flour, sifted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp. grated orange rind
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup coarsely chopped cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped glace green cherries
Raisin Pie

Cook raisins, water and sugar about 30 minutes, or until plump
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar (rounded)
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (level)
- 2 tsp. butter
- 2 1/4 tbsp. cornstarch
Pumpkin Loaf

Heat oven to 350 deg. Grease 9 x 5 loaf pan
- 1/3 cup soft shorening
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup liquid honey
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pumpkin seeds
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tps. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
Chewy Walnut Squares

Beat together 1 minute the egg, brown sugar and vanilla
- Frosting (optional):
- 1 egg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour, sifted
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup walnuts (or walnuts and coconut mixed)
- 3 tbsp. margarine
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp. milk
- 3/4 cup icing sugar
Pineapple Sour Cream Pie

Make pastry first by cutting shortening and butter into flour and salt with pastry blender until size of peas
- Pastry:
- 1 1/2 cups unsifted cake and pastry flour
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. cold water
- Filling:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 19-oz. can crushed pineapple (including juice)
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 egg yolks (save white for topping - see below)
- Topping:
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 cup flour (spoon in)
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup nuts
