- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sift before measuring

- 2 cups (1 pound) firmly-packed light brown sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten

- Dash salt

- 1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) raisins
- 2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) granulated sugar
- 4 tsp (20 mL) baking powder
- 1 tsp (5 mL) salt
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) shortening (or butter is desired)
- 3/4 cups (175 mL) milk
