Beef Satay

1. In a large resealable platic bag, combine wine, oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, rosemary and pepper
- 1/4 cup red wine ( sub)
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 (1 lb. ) flank steak, thinly sliced
- Garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs
Sunday Carrots

Cook carrots and onion until tender in enough salted water to cover, drain
- 2 lbs. carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp. melted butter
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup shredded monterey jack or gruyere cheese
Cheese Brownies

Melt 3 tbsp. butter and chocolate over low heat
- 5 tbsp. butter
- 1 4 oz. bar german chocolate
- 1 3 oz. cream cheese
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup flour-plus 1 tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Penuche Frosting

Mix all the ingredients except the vanilla in a heavy-bottomed pan
- Excellent caramel flavor.
- 1 1/2 cups dark-brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp. corn syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Lime Salad with Sour Cream and Cheese

Mix gelatin and water; stir until dissolved
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. lime gelatin or any other flavor
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 (15 1/4 oz.) crushed pineapple
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 (2oz.) bottle maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated (I don't know about this
Restaurant Teriyaki Sauce

1. Mix all but cornstarch and 1/4 water in a sauce pan and begin heating
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 5 tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1-2 tbsp. honey
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
Shanghai Cucumbers

1. Mix together the sauce ingredients 2
- 12 oz. Peeled and Seeded Cucumbers, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1.5 oz.
- 1 tsp. White Vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. Sesame Oil
- 1/2 tsp. Toasted Sesame Seeds
Chicken Chow Mein

Combine all ingredient except 1/3 can noodles
- QUICK AND EASY
- 1 6 1/2 oz. can chicken or tuna
- 4 oz. salted cashews
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 5 oz. can chow mein noodles
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup water
Caramel-Glazed Pear Cake

Cream together butter and sugars until light
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup reserved pear syrup
- 1 16 oz. can pears, diced
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- CARAMEL GLAZE
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. reserved pear syrup
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Spicy Rib-Eye Roast

Trim fat from roast. Combine pepper and cardamom: rub mixture over surface of roast
- 1 (6 lb.) boneless rib-eye roast
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup coarsely ground or cracked pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
