The classic burger patty

burger can be one of two things: A wonderful culinary experience
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (50 ml) beef or chicken broth or water
- 1 cup (250 ml) fresh bread crumbs
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
- 4 tsp. (20 ml) Dijon mustard
- 3/4 tsp. (4 ml) each salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 lb. (1 kg) lean ground beef
- 8 hamburger buns, whole wheat recommended
Oozing Brie

1. Drain oil from tomatoes; reserve 3 tablespoons
- 3/4 of a 7- to 8-ounce jar oil-packed dried tomatoes
- 1/2 of a medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 4 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup slivered fresh basil leaves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 15-ounce rounds of Brie, with rind
- 1 tablespoon finely snipped fresh parsley or dried parsley, crushed
- French bread slices cut 1/2-inch thick

- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh pomegranate juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 cups arugula leaves
- 1 1/2 cups (3-inch) julienne-cut peeled jicama
- 1/2 cup vertically sliced red onion
- 1/2 cup diced peeled avocado
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup fresh pomegranate seeds
- 4 teaspoons pine nuts, toasted
Secret Detox Drink
