- 1 1/4 cups aioli or mayonnaise
- 2 large celery ribs, cut into 1/4-inch dice
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Cayenne pepper
- 1 1/4 pounds lump crabmeat, picked over and lightly broken up

- 8 hot dog buns or 16 mini brioche rolls, split
- 8 Boston lettuce leaves, sliced
Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Cutting the potatoes into 1/2-inch pieces ensures that maximum surface area is exposed to soak up garlicky flavor
- 4 pounds russet potatoes , peeled, quartered, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter , cut into pieces
- 12 garlic cloves , minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt and pepper
Old-Fashioned Chocolate Layer Cake

. FOR THE CAKE: Adjust oven rack to middle position; heat oven to 350 degrees
- Cake
- 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), very soft, plus extra for greasing pans
- 1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (8 3/4 ounces), plus extra for dusting pans
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate , coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa (3/4 ounce)
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 3/4 cups sugar (12 1/4 ounces)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon table salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- Frosting
- 16 ounces semisweet chocolate , finely chopped
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon table salt
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream (cold)
Peach-Strawberry Shake

Peel, pit and slice 2 peaches
- 2 medium peaches
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 cup skim milk
- 3 tbsp. nonfat dry milk powder
- 1 to 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 cup ice cubes
Shredded Barbecued Beef

If you prefer a smooth barbecue sauce, strain the sauce before tossing it with the beef in step 4
- Spice Rub and Beef
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 boneless beef chuck-eye roast (5 to 6 pounds)
- 3 cups wood chips , soaked for 15 minutes
- Barbecue Sauce
- 1 onion , chopped fine
- 4 garlic cloves , minced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 1/4 cups ketchup
- 3/4 cup brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Sugar Cookies (best)

Mix all ingredients and chill
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup crisco
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp cream tarter
- 2 cups powder sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tbsp vanilla
Party Punch

Mix all ingredients except ginger ale
- 1 pkg sugarfree Strawberry Koolaid
- 1 pkg sugarfree cherry koolaid
- 8 cups water
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 6oz frozen orange juice
- 1 6 oz frozenlemonaid
- 1 qt ginger ale
Crispy Parmesan-Pepper Pork Cutlets

Shred the Parmesan on the large holes of a box grater
- 3 slices hearty white sandwich bread , torn into pieces
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (see note)
- 5 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 pork tenderloin (about 1 pound), trimmed, cut into 4 pieces, and pounded 1/2-inch thick
- Salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
Leftover Mashed Potatoes

Mix all together and store in reprigerator until ready to serve
- 8 - 10 boiled potatoes, mashed
- 1 - 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- salt and pepper

- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 eggs
- 9 cups sifted flour
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 5 cups brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. corn syrup
