Maple Glazed Pork Chops with Mashed Sweet Potatoes

In a small bowl, combine chili powder and salt; sprinkle evenly over both sides of pork chops
- 4 tsps ancho chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 6 (10-oz) bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Mashed sweet potatoes*
- Garnish: toasted and chopped pecans
