- 1/2 small bottle of zesty italian dressing
- 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 package ranch dressing mix, mixed with 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
Baked French Toast w/ Praline Topping

Directions Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each
- Praline Topping:
- 1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Dash salt
- Praline Topping, recipe follows
- Maple syrup
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Chili - Southwest

In a small bowl, blend all of the ingredients for the Southwest Seasoning Mix, then set the bowl aside
- SOUTHWEST SEASONING MIX:
- Southwest Seasoning Mix (see below)
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- Vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups V8 or tomato juice
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups beef or chicken stock
- 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes in puree
- 3 to 4 cups cooked black or red beans
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- Black pepper, to taste
- Grated Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and/or chopped parsley, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon mild chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoond dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Cream the first 5 ingredients together; then sift in dry ingredients

Butternut Squash Soup (talkchowplayhouse.com)

First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees
- Six cups roasted butternut squash
- 1 medium white onion, chopped
- 6 cups good quality chicken stock
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- salt and pepper to taste

- add one more egg (or add two additional if you want it to be really rich)
- double the oil amount, but use melted butter instead of oil
- use milk instead of water
