Strawberry Scones with Amaretto Glaze

Step 1 Preheat oven to 400°F
- 2 c. all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled, plus more for work surface
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp. cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 3/4 c. plus 1 tablespoon heavy cream, divided
- 8 oz. small strawberries, quartered or cut into eighths, if large
- 1 c. confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tbsp. plus 1 teaspoon Amaretto liqueur
California Pasta Salad

This delicious and colorful California Pasta Salad is always a hit as part of a party menu
- For the Salad Dressing:
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
- 2 cloves garlic finely minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt or more to taste
- For the Pasta Salad:
- 1 pound thin spaghetti broken into thirds (see note 1)
- 2 medium zucchini diced
- 1 pint grape tomatoes halved (see note 2)
- 1 large hot house cucumber diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper diced
- 1 medium red bell pepper diced
- 1 red onion diced
- 1 (6.5 ounce) can sliced black olives drained (see note 3)

- Filling
- 6 Granny Smith apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Crumb Topping
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1-1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup butter melted
Java Chip Frappuccino

- 1-1/2 cup ice
- 3 tbs chocolate chips
- 2 tbs chocolate sauce plus additional for glass preparation
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup expresso coffee made from hot water and 1 tsp instant expresso
- Whipped cream
Java Chip Frappuccino

- 1 small red onion, cut into wedges

- 4 large Granny Smith, Haralson, or Honeycrisp apples (or your favorite firm, tart apple variety), peeled
- 2 c. sugar
- ½ c. vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 c. chopped roasted pecans or walnuts, optional
- 1 c. raisins, Craisins, or chopped dates
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 T. baking powder
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 T. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
Classic Sour Cherry Pie with Lattice Crust

For crust: Whisk flour, sugar, and salt in large bowl to blend
- Crust:
- 2 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 5 tablespoons (or more) ice water
- Filling:
- 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups whole pitted sour cherries or dark sweet cherries (about 2 pounds whole unpitted cherries)
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (if using sour cherries) or 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (if using dark sweet cherries)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon (about) milk
- Vanilla ice cream
