Shredded Pork (Slow Cooker)

This is super-easy and really yummy. Cooked in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5.25 lb) Boston Butt
  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 (1.3oz) pkg golden onion soup mix and dip (Lipton)
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

1. Rub pork with oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork for 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until browned. Place in a slow cooker.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together soup mix and tomato paste. Add 2 cups water, whisking to combine. Pour over pork in slow cooker.
4. Cover, and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove pork from slow cooker. Shred meat, removing fat. Serve on buns with your favorite barbecue sauce.

**Add pickles to the sandwich. Good.
