Mac and Cheese with Ham and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Pasta
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese shredded
  • 12 oz. Mushrooms cooked
  • 5 Tablespoons flour
  • 5 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 Cups milk
  • 6 oz. Honey Ham cubed (from deli, sliced 1/4 inch)
  • Nutmeg
  • Ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1.) In a sauce pan....Mix 5 tablespoons of flour with 5 tablespoons of melted butter (rue)
Over low heat -Slowly add 4 cups of whole milk (SLOWLY so it doesn't clump), add 1/2 lb shredded Swiss cheese & cook till melted, then Add 12 ounces cooked mushrooms
2.) In a buttered casserole dish, pour 1/2 lb al dente pasta, 3 ounces chopped ham, half the mushroom cheese mixture, then add another 1/2 lb pasta on top, 3 more ounces chopped ham and the rest of the mushroom cheese sauce.
3.) Add nutmeg, ground pepper, cook in oven at 350 for 30 minutes, until bubbles.
