(Crockpot) Michigan Beans and Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cooked Kielbasa (Polish) sausage (lengthwise and thinly sliced)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. molasses
  • 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 3 cans (15-1/2 oz.) Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained

Preparation

Step 1

In covered saucepan, cook sausage and onion in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes, to remove some of the fat; drain.
Combine other ingredients in Crock Pot and add sausage and onions.
Cook on low heat 6 to 8 hours.

Can also bake for 1-1/2 hours at 350° covered in a 2-1/2 quart casserole.
