Directions

* Alternate Mushrooms: Common Store Mushroom, Shiitake Beat the egg slightly in a mixing bowl. Stir in the cold water, flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt to make a thin batter. Dip the mushrooms into the batter. Heat the oil to 375 degrees and deep-fry the mushrooms until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately. This recipe yields 4 side dish servings.
