  • 1 and 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 and 1/2 stick) butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups rolled or quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 3 baking sheets. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.
2. Place the brown sugar and butter in a large bawl. Beat with an electric mixer set on high speed until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth. Gradually stir in the flour mixture with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Stir in the oats and raisins until blended.
3. Drop the dough by rounded spoonfuls 1 and 1/2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten the dough slightly with a fork. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks. Serve war or at room temperature.
