Beef 'n Beans with Cheesy Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 16oz can baked beans (barbecue or pork and beans with molasses, undrained)
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 can (7.5 oz) buttermilk or country biscuits
  • Shredded cheddar cheese

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook beef and onion for 5-7 minutes, until beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain grease. Stir in beans, soup, chili powder and garlic powder. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered 5 mins, stirring occasionally, while preparing biscuits. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Spoon hot beef mixture into ungreased 8 inch square glass baking dish. Arrange biscuits over hot mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 20-25 mins or until mixture is bubbly and biscuits are golden brown and no longer doughy.
