Grilled Pork Chops with Sweet and Sour Glaze
By Maverick19
This is the recipe of Sunny Anderson. Very good! She cooks the chops on a grill pan, on the stove. We bbq them. You can make them either way.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil, (plus extra if using grill pan)
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 8 thinly cut, about 1/2 inch, pork chops

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat a grill pan to medium high OR preheat your bbq.
In a plastic resealable bag, big enough to fit the chops, mix together the sugar, honey, oil, lime juice and red pepper flakes. Add the pork chops and allow to marinate at least 20-30 minutes, the longer the better, overnight is awesome!
Remove the pork chops from the marinade. Lightly brush the grill with oil. Put the chops on the grill pan and cook until grill marks form, about 2 minutes. Rotate the chops 90 degrees and cook for another 2 minutes, to create diamond grill marks. Flip and cook another 2 minutes. Remove from grill pan to serving platter and serve immediately.
If cooking on bbq, place chops directly on heated bbq. Cook the chops for 4-6 minutes per side depending on thickness. 4 minutes for 1/2 inch thick. 6 minutes for 1 inch thick.
