- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups plus 5 tablespoons Swans Down Cake Flour
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter or 1 stick unsalted butter and 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
