Apple Galette

1. Place flour and sugar in a large bowl
- or the crust (makes two 9" pies):
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour (about 12.5 ounces)
- 1 and 3/4 sticks salted butter (14 Tablespoons)
- 1 T raw cane sugar
- 6 ounces gruyere or sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup cold vodka (any liquor 80 proof or higher)
- 1/4 cup ice water

Easy Lemon Garlic Chicken

Heat the olive oil in a dutch oven over medium heat
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-2 pounds ground beef
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2-percent)
- 1 cup white wine
- 2 28-ounce cans of whole peeled tomatoes, drained and finely chopped (juices reserved)
- 1 cup reserved tomato juices
