Pickled Cow Tongue

Boil tongue in large pan of salted water with enough water to cover
- 1 lg. cow tongue
- Salt
- Vinegar
- Water
- Onions
Caramel Corn

Pop corn and put in large roasting pan
- 1 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. white corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 6-8 quarts popcorn
Chili Cheese Dip

Soften cream cheese in microwave
- 1 can canned chili
- 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
- 4 oz. pkg. shredded cheese
- Bag of tortilla chips
- Optional: horseradish (homemade of course)
- A jar of jalapeno peppers, optional
Sloppy Joes

Can be made in Dutch oven
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 c ketchup
- 1/4 barbecue sauce
- 1/2 c water
- 1 T brown sugar
- 1 T white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
White Chicken Chili

Chop onion into slices and saute in the olive oil
- 1 white onion
- 1 can chopped green chilies
- 1 can Old Milwaukee light beer
- 2 1/2 lbs of chicken
- 1 1/2 T white pepper
- 2 T oregano
- 2 T cumin spice
- 1 1/2 T garlic powder
- 2 T olive oil
- 1 qt chicken broth
- 4 c shredded monterey Jack cheese
Belle Elder Cookies (depression era recipe)

Cream butter and sugar. Dissolve soda in milk
- 4 1/2 T. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 rounded tsp. soda
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 c. raisins, coconut or nuts

Mix cake mix, eggs and oil with a fork
- 1 box white cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. oil
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Easy Orange Salad

Dissolve gelatin in hot water; then add cold water or juice
- 1 (3 oz) pkg orange jello
- 1 c boiling water
- 1/3 c cold water or pineapple juice
- 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, well drained
- 1 (8 oz) carton Cool Whip
