Tomato Sauce

Grandma Madelyn's Tomato Sauce
- 4- 5 tbl olive oil
- 1 clove garlic or some chopped garlic to taste
- pepperoni slices maybe 7 or 8
- (4) 28 oz cans tomato puree
- (2) 12 oz cans tomato paste
Rice Pie Grandma Madelyn

Grandma Mad made her rice pies smaller than Grandma Ann
- For Crust::
- 1 lb Ricotta
- 1/2 pint heavy cream
- 2/3 cup uncooked rice, cook as package directs
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsps vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Dash salt.
- Mix together and roll out. Place in pie plate and roll the edges to make a design.
Marinara Sauce

Dad does a variation of this, and it changes each time…
- 1 Tbl olive oil
- 1 large onion chopped (dad uses less)
- 2 shallots (only used shallots once)
- 2 cans (28oz) crushed tomatoes, 2 cans tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp each basil & oregano
- 1 Tbl sugar

- 4 oz lobster base
- 5 oz cream sherry
- 120 oz of milk

- 14 oz can beef broth
- 1/4 cup brewed coffee
- liquid smoke
Puff Pastry Grandma Madelyn's

Grandma Mads handmade jelly or nut filled puff pastries
- for Dough
- 3 cups flour
- 2 egg yolks (save egg whites for brushing)
- 1 Tbl vinegar
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 Tbl Spry (use Crisco)
- 1/2 Tsp salt
- Mixture
- 1 lb Oleo or Spry (Oleo used to be margarine, spry was an old competitor of Crisco Grandma Mad used Crisco)
- 1 cup flour

- 1 quart milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup sugar
- 7 tablespoons cornstarch
- 8 tablespoons flour
- Grandma Ann’s sweet crust
- Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Little salt
- 2 tsp baking Powder
- 2 Tbl of Crisco
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 stick of butter
Grandma Ann’s Ham Pie

Italian Easter Meat Pie
- Crust::
- Cubed ham (1/2 ham shank)
- 8 hard boiled eggs
- 3 basket cheese cubed
- Black pepper
- 2 cups grated cheese
- One dozen eggs beaten well.
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- Pepper
- 3/4 cup Crisco
- 3 eggs put into a measuring cup
- Add enough water to eggs to make 3/4 cup
- 1 tsp baking powder
Beef Tips & Noodles

- 1 lb stew meat or London Broil cut into cubes. Cut them the size you want to eat later.
