- 8 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tablespoon of canola oil
- 1 cup of chopped onion

- 1 C low-sodium chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 1/2 tsp sugar, plus more to taste
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 C heavy cream, or more to taste
