Boston Baked Beans

1. Soak beans overnight in cold water
- 2 cups navy beans
- 1/2 pound bacon
- 1 onion, finely sliced
- 3 tbsp molasses
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Mushroom Tomato Bisque

1. Place tomatoes cut side down in a greased 15 X 10 X 1 inch baking pan
- 1 1/2 pounds plum tomatoes, halved lengthwise
- 5 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp each dried basil and dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 cup finely chopped sweet onion
- 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup tomato paste
- pinch sugar, optional
- 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Chocolate Crinkles

1. In large bowl, mix oil, chocolate, granulated sugar and vanilla
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Aromatic Basmati Rice

Indian basmati is one of the few rices that should be washed and soaked before cooking
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 3 cardamom seeds
- Finely grated peel of 1 orange
- 1 cup basmati rice, washed and soaked.
Grandma's Apple Dumplings

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
- 2 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and quartered
- 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Upside Down Apple Pie

1. In a bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in shortening and butter until crumbly
- Filling:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp shortening
- 2 tbsp cold butter
- 5 to 7 tbsp orange juice
- 6 tbsp butter, melted, divided
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 8 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples (aboout 1/2 inch thick)
- Glaze:
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 to 3 tsp orang juice
Ham & Cheese Pasta Sauce

- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/4 lb diced ham
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms
- 3/4 cup light cream
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp tarragon
- 1/4 tsp pepper

- 4 cups Quick cooking Oatmeal
- Topping
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butterscotch or carmel chips
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
